Aims and Objectives
The project aims to provide a provision for Somali young people in Bristol, particularly those who are:
● Excluded from or not attending school; ● Likely to offend, drop from school or join gangs; ● Involved in drugs; and ● Identified involved in crime and gangs.The objectives of the project are to:
1. Support young people back into education or training and enable them attain more; 2. Empower young people to overcome barriers to participation, employment and achievement; 3. Encourage young people to contribute to the community and to society and not engaging in anti-social or offending behaviour, drug and crime activities; 4. Provide opportunities for young people for personal development including the development of self-discipline, self-respect and self-confidence enabling them to communicate more effectively with a wide range of people and work effectively in a team; 5. Empower and give a voice to young people in relation to things to do and places to go, conveying a powerful message that their needs and aspirations are important.
